First Round this weekend!

Well it looks like the weather might finally co-operate with us this weekend.  Last weekend was miserable but so far the forecast looks good for this weekend.  I have my first official round of the year scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 11:30 out at Eagles Nest.  Stop by to boo, seek autographs or by me beers.  I have never played Eagles Nest but it is supposed to be a great course and very challenging.  Robert Thompson ranked it as one of his top Canadian courses in an interview he did with me a short while back.  The only real issues which concern me right now is my distance.  I have been pretty short off the tee so this might be a problem on a course like this.  The Par 3 – 15th hole is 242 yards from the tips.  For me that is a driver and a sandwedge to the green…well not really but you get my drift.  I’ll be playing much closer tees, at least to start. Wish me luck.

New Teaching Aid - This Blog!

When we speak of teaching aids, we mostly think of what a student used to improve his game.  But what about teachers?  They need help choosing what is the best approach to take when dealing with their students.  I have come to realize that Jon needs information on how to help me progress to the next level…he can’t just teach me the same things he teaches other students.  Each persons game is different.  I am always very open when we speak so he has an insight into my thoughts and he adjusts his teaching plan accordingly.  Jon started my most recent lesson by telling me he wanted to re-visit some fundamentals because of something he read on my blog.  The blog gives Jon a unique insight into what is going through my head.  As much as I try to tell him when we speak, he also picks up valuable information by reading what I convey back to my readers.  What is my point?  When working with your instructor, always be talking.  Tell them what is going on in your head!
