Warrior Custom Golf – revisited
Almost 2 years ago I was having major issues with a company called Warrior Custom Golf. It took me almost another year of problems with the company before I decided to write about them in this blog. Since that time, my post on Warrior Custom Golf has easily been the most popular post I have written. I am still getting comments on them to this day. A while back I had a server crash and I lost a lot of data but prior to that, there were at least 20 additional comments on Warrior.
This has been so popular that I wanted to re-post the original and see if anyone else has dealt with Warrior. Most comments have been negative but perhaps others have had good experiences. Please let me know either way.

I really thought long and hard about writing this post and finally decided it was something I needed to do. I have never done this before but I think I have a responsibility to discuss it. About 10 months ago I ran a golf tournament and one of the entry prizes were 3 free custom wedges from Warrior Custom Golf Clubs. You simply register for the golf tournament, fill out a form which ask for all your details (hand, height, weight, etc) and in 6-8 weeks your clubs would arrive at your house…all you do is pay the shipping. Now I know this is too good to be true but they came highly recommended from a client and I called Warrior to check it out. Turns out their marketing concept was to spend their money giving away wedges for the first year, then once people had them word of mouth would take over. So I decided to use them for the tournament.
Here I am 10 months after the tournament and about 80% of the people have received their wedges. Many haven’t seen anything and a few more were charged twice on their credit cards. It has been 10 months of calling and emailing the company and getting nowhere. I was finally able to track down an account manager, Aaron Munn, who tried to help but eventually stopped calling me back. He did however turn me over to his ‘customer service manager’, Christina Fuchs, who took 2 of my calls, returned 2 emails then just seemed to drop off the face of the earth and refuses to call me back. I am still trying to get these wedges for people from the tournament but am having no luck at all. In the last 6 months I have sent a total of 18 emails to Christina and Aaron and have left 8 voicemails for Christina and have yet to receive a response. Since that time I have spent more time reading about Warrior on message boards and forums and seems like this is not an isolated instance.
Bottom line, it was too good to be true and I should have realized it. Either way, keep an eye out for Warrior Custom Golf!
I am seeing their ads in a lot of places these days. It does seem to good to be true so I think I will stay away from them for now.

I agree with the posting by Are you Kidding? I wish I took the time to research the company further before I visited thier website. As it stands I am committed to thier 52, 56, and 60 Wedges and a 3 Hybrid. I already have a good 56 and 60 Degree Wedge, Tour Edge JMAX Bounce Wedges, and a JMAX 3 and 4 Hybrid. I figured that I would test Warrior’s clubs against mine, since I have already made the mistake of doing business with them in the first place. I checked and Warrior has taken a pretty good beating at the Better Business Bureau website and at Rip Off Report’s website. As I said before, I am now fairly concerned about additional charges on my credit card aside from what I authorized them. I was a police officer for about six years before I decided to pursue a career teaching and believe me, I have taken many reports about scam artists. I don’t have any problem with doing the research necessary to compile data to forward to someone to look at fraud charges against them. Using people’s credit card numbers, information, etc. is a crime (Felony) in most of the United States. We will see what happens, I still have not heard from them even though I believe that they are processing payment, by the way my online statement for my account reads.

The charge hit my card today. It was supposed to be for $399 ($133 per club 1,3,5) and it turned out to be $428 (maybe shipping?). I called Doug at his “direct” line and got his “assistant” who said it was indeed his direct line and that he was not available. I told her I had not received an email confirming shipment (as Doug said I would) but had gotten the charge on my card. She tried to slip me to another customer service number. I told her I wanted to hear from him. I left my number and insisted he call me back. So far nothing. Fortunately AMEX is very good when it comes to disputing charges. If I don’t hear from Doug soon, Warrior Custom Golf will get nothing.

I would highly encourage Rick B to avoid doing business with Warrior Custom Golf (WCG). I believe they have a good product but their dealings are very shady. Like many others I did not do my homework before committing myself to a relationship with WCG and now am regretting it! Today, in fact, I (hope) have finished dealing with these guys for the last time. I spoke with a “sales manager” named Rainer (at X6706). What an excuse of a professional! This guy was the most ridiculous person I’ve ever worked with on anything! I thought I‘d seen it all until I dealt with this guy. He was asking me about my bad experience while trying to sell me a bag, head covers, balls, woods and driver, and irons for the entire amount I wanted them to refund. What a deal! But, I told him that I try to support those companies that work hard at customer service and did not want to do business with WCG. He was disrespectful and finally told me that he’d fly me out there so I could load the shotgun with shells if the money was not refunded as soon as I wanted. Any company would not have a person like him as a front sales manager. It’s bad business. Anyway, I was on the fence about doing business with them in the future but this guy solidified the bad taste in my mouth. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

I guess I should consider myself fortunate. I have ordered several sets of Warrior Golf Clubs and after reading all of your experiences and thinking of my own it seems their biggest problem is customer service and support. I have found that the product is of good quality and well made. I have always had a problem with giving my cedit card number over the phone which is why I have a card with a low credit line ($500) for this purpose. After your comments I may choose not to order any more merchandise from them. My good luck can only go so far.

I’ll spare you all the details and get right to the point…Warrior Golf is a fraud and I would be surprised if there are still in business 6 months from now. DON’T BUY FROM THEM! They’ll lie to you over the phone and tell you anything you want to hear just to get a sale. I’ve been had…..learn from my mistake. I saw at least one lawsuit against them via an internet search….probably more…

Aloha All;
I seem to have a different experience with Warrior Custom Golf then the others on this site. I received a offer from them about 5-6 years ago to try out some clubs, which I did. I received exactly what was promised and also charged the agreed amount. They even sent me a 410 Titanium Driver and a golf bag that wasn’t part of the deal for no charge at all. The quality is very good and these are still my favorite set of clubs that I have. I admit I haven’t had any contact with them for a few years, but it’s hard for me to believe that they would have changed that much. Good luck to everyone having problems with them.

If you ever have any contact from Warrior Golf—-run away as fast as you can. I actually happen to like their 3 wood, but I have lost the weight combination directions ( I wanted to play around with different settings). 5 emails and multiple calls, and I still can’t get a simple answer to my question. A little research has shown them to be nothing more than a peddler of equipment. Once you have bought anything, they couldn’t care one iota about you. I put them into the same class as penny stock scum from the 80’s like First Jersey. Get the sale and screw the client after that. Buyer beware if you are thinking of getting involved with them!!

Yesterday, I order the free wedges, hybrid, and hat/sunglasses/bracelet combo (plus S/H). I consider myself a fairly levelheaded person but figured that there was little risk in this offer. Though I don’t usually participate on on-line blogs, I will update this one periodically based upon my experience.
I will also contact the various consumer groups including the Better Business Bureau and the various golf periodicals regarding my experience with Warrior Custom Golf – either a positive or negative experience. Since there are many negative comments and a terrible “F” Company Rating from the BBB, I wanted to either help Warrior improve it’s rating (if I find the experience positive) or maintain it at “F” (if my experience is negative). By the way, I didn’t know what an “F” rating signifies … here’s what I found out from the BBB:
“We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices. ”
I am hopeful that the experience will be a positive one.

Dont give warrior custom golf your credit card information! They will send you cheaply made golf clubs and their sales department will call you non stop even years from now. They do not honor requests to not call again. The only way to stop them is to change your phone number.
This Warrior Custom Golf has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Awhile back I had ordered a set of Wedges for my son and received them without a problem. It was the Free Wedges Promotion (just pay s/h) and so the final cost was $29.95 He enjoys them and is successful with them.
My other son needed some wedges so I called WCG to inquire about getting another set for him. I was transferred to Valorie (a supervisor) and they informed that the promotion I was requesting was no longet valid but I could get a LW free (plus s/h) if I wanted to. I said no thank since I needed a set not just one. After much haggling I settled on a cost of $75 plus s/h for three wedges and a putter.
When I received my itemized bill I saw I was charged $109.95. I immediatly called WCG and asked for an explaination. Valorie was on vacation so the CS rep said he would send me some free items (3 shirts and 3 dozen golf balls). I settled again and accepted the offer.
Today, 7/1, I logged on to find out the status of my clubs and guess what I see? They are now offerring the Free Wedges Promotion again!! Boy was I mad!! I called and talked with Jeff (a supervisor) because Valorie was in a meeting and he told me he can’t explain the mischarge but he said that the free promotions are on one offer per household so that was why it wasn’t offerred. One, I can’t find that anywhere on their updated website and two, why did they offer me the one free wedge promotion then? His respose was a casual brush-off since he was also talking to a co-worker at the same time . I have asked for a return call from Valorie but I won’t hold my breath.
I don’t mind spending money when I have to and in the long run the money I have spent is OK but I just don’t like being lied to. That is my biggest complaint.

Update:
Just a follow up from a post from July 1st.
I called WG today and talked to Toby Eklund @ 800-574-9790 ext 310. I explained to him my story as described above. He apologized and immediatly issued a refund for $25. He also promised my order would be shipped in about a week.
Thank you Toby for helping to resolve the issue.

Warrior is awful, the product is fair, but the customer service(?) is really awful. If you are considering it, don’t. If have I suggest call your credit card company and reverse the charge.

Well I’ve been sold into this Warrior thing. I’m getting the driver, hybrid and wedge for free…trying out the irons with the 45 day money back, keep the other clubs guarantee. I have the sales reps number/name and will deal with him only. I’ve already called him back after reading this stuff to make him aware that I am aware of the reputation they have. So, this may have been a stupid mistake, wither way I’ll try to update with my experience as it happens. I’m waiting for the clubs right now, ordered them on 7/24 or so. Oh yeah, they did already charge my card but said up front they would be doing so. The fact that the confirmation email they send recruits you to sell thier clubs should tell you something right?

I’m glad I found this site. I have been wondering what others have thought about WCG. I guess I’ve been a customer of WCG since ‘99(give or take a year). They had the same deal – a free club or two if you try a set of woods or irons. I thought the clubs were okay then. They have been sending me post cards or calling ever since. I finally broke down last year and had them send me the full set of woods – 3 thru 9 and driver plus a set of wedges for $500.00. Of course this was to test the clubs and I keep the driver and wedges and can return the set of woods. I called back within my 45 days and wanted to return the 7 and 9 wood. I was transferred to a sales rep and he told me that the clubs weren’t coming back. He asked what would make me happy. He offered me a set of irons – for $199.00 on top of 500.00 already charged. I told him no. I asked him to throw in golf balls, shirts, head covers for all clubs and the leather golf bag. So for $620.00 (I talked him down from the extra$199)I got the set of woods, irons, wedges, putter, 1 hybrd, leather bag, 4 dozen golf balls, head covers for irons and woods, 2 shirts and a hat. They’re sales men and they will try to sell the product. My old set was 10 years old and thought what the heck I’ll spend the money. I do like the clubs. I drive the ball 290+ and my irons are straighter. I do agree with all about the hybrid. Mine has also chipped after using on the range the first time. I did have one extra shiping charge of $14.00 but I called back and got it reversed the first time I asked.
They are persistant –
Not sure what I’ll do when they call me back next year. I have a full line of clubs.

I got a card in the mail from Warrior about a free hybrid club as long as I paid for shipping. They sent me the club and a representative called asking if I would like to demo a set of fairway woods (3,5,7 wood) and if I did they would give me a driver and set of 3 wedges free and I could return the fairway woods within the 45 day test period if I wasn’t satisfied. I called to return the fairway woods and the customer service rep. told me he would refund me 299 dollars if I agreed to keep the woods. I still haven’t received the refund and I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. If anyone has had a similar experience and have had it settled with Warrior Custom Golf feel free to e-mail me. I know I won’t be dealing with them in the future after this is resolved and will not be recommending them to anyone.

I WANTED TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT WARRIOR GOLF, I TRIED THEIR WEDGES AND FOUND THEM TO BE GREAT QUALITY, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GOOD AND THE PEOPLE WERE REAL NICE? SO WHA’T UP WITH THAT?

This company is horrible to deal with. I, too, received a hybrid offer in the mail (courtesy, no doubt, of my recent subscription to Golf Digest). Foolishly, I thought I’d respond. They immediatley started a hard sell for the wood set. After being assured there would be no hassle returning if I wasn’t satisfied, I agreed and gave them my credit card info. What a complete idiot! Approximately six weeks later the clubs arrived. I hit my first drive about 50 yds further than usual. This, however, was the only time this happened and at this time I didn’t know whether to attribute it to the quality of the clubs or to luck. However, after a couple of rounds, the clubs began to feel “flat” and soft. My 3 wood broke at the hossel on a typical fairway hit. It was around this time that my “trial period” was soon to expire. For times sake, I made the mistake of fixing the 3 wood myself. I knew, though, that these clubs were not worth the money I would have to pay to keep them outright. “Trial period” expired and I decided to send them back. The phone extension the salesman gave me only sent me to the main switchboard. I was then forced to wade through endless redirects and chicago songs before I could speak with someone who could help me. We are now at two months +……
My wife tells me I’m ranting and should just sum it up. Long story longer, I told them I wanted to return the clubs. After trying to sell me an iron set to no avail, it was agreed that they would refund all but $150 to my cc and that I should see this on my next statement. Didn’t happened. After many calls I finally emailed customer service and told them to call me. They said they made a mistake and my refund never reached accounting but would now process it, less s/h fees. I balked and they said they’d have to research this and call me back. I received a call back and during the call was chastised for fixing the 3 wood myself, saying they have a warranty and that was “stupid” of me. Upon being called stupid, I kind of lost it and dropped an “f” bomb while explaining that I was already having enough problems dealing with them. This greatly upset the sensibilities of the supervisor I was talking to. He said they could not refund the s/h, but would credit back $150 of the purchase price. I tried explaining that the previous agreement was that there would only be a $150 charge on my cc. He said no way, I said give me the return auth. number, he gave it while mumbling something to the effect of “you don’t even make sense”, told me return s/h charges were on me and “We’re done!” then hung up the phone. I will now ship these back and no doubt have more to deal with when they receive them.
Alll of this and I’m still an 18 handicap.

Well I just ordered the free wedge and the hat and tees and such for just shipping and handling cost of $21 or close to it and I guess I’ll post back about my results.

Warrior Golfs CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! I had a driver given to me (god forbid), Warrior golf only believes in purchasing products directly from them. They have online outlets, and of course there are secondary markets where you could pick up one of there clubs. This company will not help you whatsoever if you are not in there system. So back to the point, the driver’s face is collapsed (cracked soleplate directly under the face). I called, and they go through the process of looking you up, or whomever gave you the club(s), and if they do not see you they tell you they cannot help. There is NO warranty if you are not in there system. A couple years ago I collapsed two faces on high end Callaway products, guess what…..they replaced them right away with new ones. Warrior Golf should get the Customer Service Concept, and the Stand Behind Your Product Concept from Callaway, otherwise this will be one more golf company that closes it’s doors. I will never purchase a product from this company, nor will I ever recommend a product from this company. The repair service folks are RUDE, and there product is inferior with no warranty. My money-NO THANK YOU!
