Tiger Woods has been critized in the past for not speaking out on political issues. This will change this Sunday as the world’s most recognizable athlete will speak at the opening celebration for the inauguration of President Obama.
“I am honored that I was invited to this historic event, and look forward to participating in Sunday’s festivities,” Woods said in a statement.
Tiger made the announcement this morning on his web site.

Is a bar responsible if they serve you drinks and you drive home drunk and kill someone? If so, the same would apply to a golf course and that is the case here.
Last summer in Port Carling ( a city North of Toronto), 4 men (boys, if you ask me) under the age of 20 left the exclusive Lake Joseph Golf Club after consuming more than a few drinks. On their way home they crashed into the Joseph River killing 3 of the 4 men. The golf course has now been charged with permitting drunkenness on a licensed premises and supplying liquor to apparently intoxicated persons.
The case will be heard Jan 27…we will keep a close eye on this.

Happy 2009!
Yes, I am very aware my post is coming a little late but that will hopefully change this year. Another significant milestone also passed without me mentioning anything…my 3rd Anniversary blogging!
November 30th, marked the 3rd anniversary of the Illogical Golf Blog. I must say it has been a fun ride, yet tough at times. I have really enjoyed it yet found it difficult at times to keep up with regular posts, especially of late…I have a wonderful 6 month old named Benjamin at home which is taking up most of my time these days! That being said, I am making a firm promise to delivering more posts, guest writers and overall golf content.
2009 will also see a significant partnership announced…while I can’t say anything yet, the partnership will be great for everyone involved…stay tuned.
Thanks for all the help and support over the years and all the best in 2009!
