Maples of Ballantrae Golf Club

Maples of Ballantrae is a great scenic course nestled in Stouffville Ontario, just 30 minutes North of Toronto and golfers of all skill levels will find it challenging.

Be warned, this course can play extremely tough. This Par 72, 6625 yard (from back tees) course can be deceivingly challenging. With water on many holes and with strategically placed trees, the course will punish those who are inaccurate and reward those with good course management.

My first reaction on the first few holes was to take out the driver, hit it long, and hope for a short approach shot. After finding the rough, losing a ball in the water, hitting some overhanging trees and getting my ball caught in a crosswind, I soon realized this course is about playing smart and being accurate.

In addition to their 18 holes course, Maples of Ballantrae also boasts a 9 hole executive course. This course is ideal for beginners, juniors, families, seniors and the individual who does not have time for 18 holes.

While the golf course is great, the most welcome surprise was the new club house. This new club house includes a full service Pro Shop, Men's and Ladies Locker Rooms, Banquet Facilities and beautiful outdoor patio which over looks the treacherous 18th hole. The banquet facilities are ideal for hosting large tournaments or intimate corporate gatherings.
